Love Me! – Session 4

Join us each Monday during the month of February for Love Me! – a class focusing on developing habits and practices for both self-care and self-compassion. We will have 4 in-person meetings of 2 hours, one each week. Throughout the week, you will receive homework assignments. These will include journaling prompts, motivational videos, articles of interest, suggestions and tips for cultivating self-care and self-compassion. These will be printable if you desire to create a small personalized notebook for future reference.
Each session will include a hands-on make and take project to reinforce to discussion and practices we will be learning. These will bring value to the class beyond just gained knowledge and a positive experience. Denise and Jennifer worked together to develop the curriculum and structure of this class. Denise has 30 years of experience as a social worker and Jennifer has 25 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist. Together they have created a class that will support you in maintaining and or developing a stronger practice of daily self-compassion and integrating self-care practices into your busy schedule.
What’s the difference? Self-care is about our physical selves. Healthy food, drinks, exercise, sleep, rest, finding time to give your body and your brain what they need.
Self-compassion is the practice of giving yourself the grace, forgiveness and compassion that you would extend to your dearest loved ones. We will explore what drags us down and cultivate practices that help us move through and beyond these negative thoughts and feelings.
We will meet at Compass Point home of Dirty Girl Adventures, 800 North Kansas Avenue, Topeka. We hope that we will have the opportunity to be outside at some point during our four-week sessions. We will meet every Monday during the month of February from 6:30-8:00 p.m for each session. We will follow all current COVID-19 guidelines for gathering including social distancing, masks and sanitizing throughout this class.

Due to planning and coordination time, there will be no refunds after one week prior to the class start. There is no refund for a missed session. Participants will be encouraged to participate weekly and if a session must be missed, a conversation to “catch up” will happen prior to the next meeting of the group. This is a small group class in order to support relationship development and reinforce the opportunity to share in a safe environment. During this time, we consider any health concerns a valid reason for a refund. If you feel sick, or have any symptom possibly related to Covid-19 stay home, we’ll send you a refund.
