Elk River Backpacking – The Whole Trail!

April 29 @ 1:00 pm - May 1 @ 2:00 pm

$180.00 – $225.00

Join us for two nights and 2.5 days on the gorgeous 15 mile Elk River Trail!  This is a National Recreation Trail, noted in Backpacker Magazine as the best backpacking trail in Kansas.  It is a scenic 15 mile trail and was a finalist for the 8 Wonders of Kansas.  The trail is on the edge of the Chautauqua Hills region, threads through boulders and up rocky bluffs and sometimes features small waterfalls as well as multiple water crossings.  We consider this to be a challenging backpacking adventure.  It is for hardy beginners or those with some experience backpacking.

We will meet at the Elk River Trailhead Friday April 29th at 1pm (specific directions and carpooling will be facilitated prior to the trip) We will spend Friday and Saturday nights on the trail.  We will cover 15 miles of hilly, rocky, scenic Kansas over the course of this adventure.
